General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation to speak in Auckland on climate justice

Sharan Burrow will be speaking in Auckland on the subjects of climate justice and ending corporate greed.

Sharan Burrow is the General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC). She was elected into the role in 2010, and was the ITUC President, and the Australian CTU President, prior to that.

Sharan played a leading role during the Paris COP21 climate negotiations which was attended by NZCTU affiliate Unite Union as part of a delegation of trade unions representing 180 million workers of the world.

Sharan is in New Zealand soon and the NZCTU has arranged a number of roundtable discussions on the ITUC’s three key front-lines which include the topic of climate justice and corporate greed.
