Climate Justice Aotearoa, a newly formed environmental justice organisation based in New Zealand has today launched a campaign to source “Cooperative Solutions” to environmental and social challenges in light of the failure of the Paris climate change negotiations.
“These inseparable issues require solutions based on cooperation, the opposite of what the climate change negotiations are based upon. Pitting interest groups, governments and corporations against one another might work to achieve trade negotiations in a dog-eat-dog setting, but that approach has demonstrably failed to bring about a fair and effective agreement on tackling climate change.” said Gary Cranston who is attending the COP21 climate change negotiations as an official observer.
